Who Can Resist a Parade? By Keith Burton GCN 10/7/08 The weather Monday evening was threatening rain, but only a misting dampened the annual kick-off parade for Cruisin' the Coast in Long Beach. Cruisers began staging for the parade, which began around 5:30 p.m. near the Long Beach High School and then rolled through town and down Jeff Davis Avenue to the beach at the Long Beach harbor. As in the past, the parade draws thousands of Long Beach residents and visitors from around the region. The parade is one of the highlights of the annual Cruisin' event and is very popular with participants. The following are some photos of the event shot by GCN contributing photographer Larry Walton with Editorial Services.
