Biloxi City Council to Face Zoning Issues, Variances for New Restaurants and more Tuesday

Six zoning issues – including variances for two restaurants – and funding of more than $150,000 for social-service groups are among the measures before the City Council when it meets Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.

The Snapper Seafood Restaurant, known pre-Katrina as Wet and Wild, is seeking a parking variance at its west beach location, while the Fillin’ Station, a restaurant and nightclub, is seeking parking and distance waivers for its site, which was once a service station at Howard Avenue and Main Street.

Also on the agenda are resolutions authorizing use of emergency powers to remove vessels from Point Cadet Marina. Introduced by Mayor A. J. Holloway, and a resolution request for an extension of authorizations previously granted for a Conceptual Planned Unit Development for the  Broadwater Conceptual  Planned Unit Development (PUD) Subdivision for the properties located at 2110 Beach Boulevard, 2121 Beach Boulevard, and 236 Beauvoir Road. 'Cruisin' the Coast' is also on the agenda. The city is to approve $14,000 for the event's organizers.
