Biloxi Working on Consolidated Plan
From: City of Biloxi 6/22/2020 GCN
The City of Biloxi is in the process of developing its 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and 2020 Annual Action Plan, required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the City’s Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program.
Biloxi receives an annual CDBG funding allocation, which is $462,382 for Program Year 2020. These funds must address at least one of CDBG’s three goals: provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, or expand economic opportunities to primarily benefit low- to moderate-income persons.
The city proposes to allocate $80,000 of PY2020 CDBG resources to eligible agencies to provide public service activities addressing high priority, unmet community needs. To insure low- and moderate-income residents receive maximum benefit from investment of these limited funds, the city seeks to work with agencies with successful track records managing federal funds and existing staff capacity to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
An application for public service activities for PY 2020 (Oct. 1, 2020 to Sept. 30, 2021) is available for download on the city’s website. Go to www.biloxi.ms.us/cdbg/. Applications also are available at the city’s Federal Programs Office at 214-A Delauney St. in downtown Biloxi, weekdays from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
To be eligible, completed applications with required attachments must be submitted to the Federal Programs Office by 4 p.m., June 26, 2020. No electronic applications will be accepted. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
