
Gulfport Businessman Appointed by Governor to Mississippi
Educational Television Authority

(JACKSON, Mississippi)—Governor Haley
Barbour has appointed Robert “Bob” Sawyer, of Gulfport, to the Educational
Television Authority, which provides educational, instructional, and
public service programs for Mississippi students and citizens through a
statewide television and radio system.
“I am pleased Bob has accepted this
important assignment that greatly impacts Mississippi’s public television
and broadcast programs,” Governor Barbour said.
Sawyer has over 27 years of investment
experience, currently serving as managing director of Trinity Investment
Services, LLC and Sawyer Financial. He previously worked at Stifel
Nicolaus and Company, Inc. In 2008, Sawyer received the Business
Integrity Award from the Mississippi Better Business Bureau and the
Tapestry Award for Personal Services from the Mississippi Coast Chamber of
Commerce. He is a member of the Gulfport Business Club, Gulfport Rotary
Club, and Gulf Coast Business Council. Sawyer is former vice chairman of
the Harrison County Development Commission’s finance committee and is a
charted federal employee benefits consultant.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from the
University of Mississippi and is master certified in demographics with the
HS Dent Advisory Network. Sawyer has completed various certifications,
including an IRA distribution workshop; Series 7 General Securities Agent;
Series 63, Uniform Securities Agent; and Series 65, Investment Advisor
Representative.
Sawyer and his wife, Suzie, have been
married 26 years and have two children, John and Betsey.
