From: City of Biloxi Filed 8/30/08 GCN Owners of vessels in Biloxi’s public harbors and marinas are being advised to either move their craft to safer areas or be ready to do so. Port Division Manager Frankie Duggan says he began cautioning boat owners on Friday afternoon to be prepared to move, and Port Division staffers have continued to do so today. “We may very well be looking at a mandatory evacuation, but regardless, at this point, we’re advising boat owners not to wait -- either move or be ready to move.” Although the city’s small craft harbor is several weeks from opening, about 40 working vessels are moored at the commercial harbor south of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, 180 pleasure craft and charter vessels are moored at Point Cadet Marina and about 40 large shrimp boats are moored a the Lighthouse Docks on Back Bay, at the north end of Lee Street.
