U.S. 90 Closed Due to Ike Flooding
Filed 10:42 a.m. GCN 9/12/08
Highway official and local municipalities closed U.S. 90 Friday morning
due to Hurricane Ike's storm surge. While the hurricane is far from the
Mississippi Coast, its large size is causing flooding in low-lying areas
and streets. The storm surge, in combination with astronomical tides and
high winds are causing the flooding. Officials hope the flooding will
subside in the afternoon Friday.

Ike flooding on U.S. 90 is also affecting Beachfront casinos.
