Louisiana Wildfowl Carvers & Collectors Guild

On Saturday, August 26, 2017 the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum will host the Louisiana Wildfowl Carvers & Collectors Guild Decoy Show, located at 133 Mabel Drive in Madisonville, La., from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  LWCCG will present demonstrations in carving and finishing. 

The LWCCG is a non-profit organization dedicated not only to the tradition of Decoy Carving, which is part of the culture of Southern Louisiana, but also preservation of Louisiana Wetlands.  Decoy Carving is one of the first truly American Art forms & Louisiana has always been at the forefront of this tradition. 

The LWCCG, now almost 40 years old, was the second show in the country dedicated to this art form.  There are more World Champion and Master Carvers from Louisiana than any other state.

The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum in Madisonville is an educational non-profit organization that offers exhibits and unique hands-on educational programs that bring the story of Louisiana’s people to life.
