Road, Bridge Repairs Move Forward, Lt. Gov. Reeves Says

JACKSON – More than $250 million authorized by the Legislature for road and bridge repairs heads to local communities today, Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves said.

The Department of Transportation voted to send the money that was set aside by the Legislature in 2018 to local governments to begin infrastructure projects.

“Today’s action is good news for Mississippi counties and cities that stand ready to get to work on road and bridge needs,” Lt. Gov. Reeves said. “Maintaining infrastructure is a core function of government, and I am pleased we were able to pay for these repairs without raising taxes
