Shuckers Impressive in Opening Game in Biloxi's New Stadium

Shuckers win in bottom of 14th inning in a sudden rally of 5-4 Saturday evening at the new MGM stadium. After 55 games on the road, the team didn't arrive in Biloxi until 4 a.m. Saturday. Fans commented on the impressive stadium and its high-tech, full color video board.
Several dignitaries were in attendance including the Governor Bryant, current Mayor Fofo Gilich, former mayor AJ Holloway as well as Beau Rivage's President George Corchis Jr.
Six people simultaneously threw out the first pitch: Gov. Phil Bryant, Biloxi Mayor Andrew "FoFo" Gilich, former Mayor A.J. Holloway, City Council President Felix Gines, Beau Rivage President George Corchis Jr. and state Rep. Randall Patterson.

Biloxi will try for its third straight win on Sunday night in game two against Mobile. LHP Hobbs Johnson (3-2, 3.26) will start for the Shuckers, while the BayBears will counter with RHP Aaron Blair (5-2, 2.56). First pitch is scheduled for 5:10 p.m., with coverage beginning at 4:55 p.m. on 1240-AM WGCM, 1580-AM WPMO and the Biloxi Shuckers Radio Network.
